With the rising emphasis on evidence-based dentistry, dental students must increasingly develop critical thinking skills and rely on scientific evidence for clinical decisions. The dual Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master of Science in Dental Research (DMD/MS) program enables a chosen group of DMD students to pursue TUSDM's Master of Science in Dental Research, completing both degrees within five years. Participants will enhance their clinical expertise by engaging in research, applying evidence-based approaches to patient care, and strengthening their collaboration skills within interdisciplinary teams studying behavioral, environmental, socioeconomic, and genetic influences on human health—particularly dental, oral, and craniofacial conditions.
Dental professionals with graduate degrees are highly sought after for academic roles, where they can teach, conduct research, and guide students alongside their clinical work.
