This program equips dentists to handle complex orofacial pain cases using a multidisciplinary method. With hundreds of new patients annually and two-year case follow-ups, residents gain exceptional clinical experience. Training occurs at the Craniofacial Pain Center.
Residents engage daily with Orofacial Pain cases, constituting 70% of their scheduled time. They develop skills in diagnosing and treating these patients through collaborative approaches. Working alongside orthodontists, pain specialists, neurologists, psychologists, physical therapists, and surgeons, residents create comprehensive treatment plans.
The program provides in-depth training in head/neck radiography, MRIs, electromyography, digital occlusal analysis, electrical anesthesia, and diagnostic injections. Common treatments at the Center include oral appliances, medication management, psychological approaches, and physical therapy techniques.
