The Master of Science in Software and Security Engineering (MSSSE) program focuses on cutting-edge security and software engineering principles, covering topics like information security, software development methodologies, and quality assurance practices. This degree equips students with both theoretical foundations and hands-on skills for careers as software or security engineers, while also serving those interested in academic research within these fields. The MSSSE program has superseded the previous Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSE) program, which is no longer accepting new students.
Participants will gain expertise in techniques for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining sophisticated software and security systems. Recognizing that modern security and software solutions must interact with diverse systems, the curriculum expands students' understanding of related disciplines. The program uniquely integrates security and software engineering principles with system-level considerations, addressing the interplay between hardware components, software solutions, human factors, economic constraints, and specific industry applications. Additionally, the curriculum emphasizes collaborative work environments and professional ethics in engineering practice.
