The Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) and Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) dual degree program is a collaborative initiative between Texas Tech University's Department of Political Science in the College of Arts & Sciences and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's (TTUHSC) Department of Public Health within the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. This unique program blends Public Administration with Public Health education. Tailored for individuals aiming to gain comprehensive public health expertise alongside management and public policy training, the M.P.A./M.P.H. addresses critical workforce demands in healthcare sectors across public, nonprofit, and private organizations. Through this dual degree, students develop essential leadership and management capabilities for healthcare institutions, encompassing areas such as public health implementation, health policy assessment, program analysis, fiscal oversight, government-health sector partnerships, organizational leadership, and healthcare legal/ethical considerations. Additionally, the curriculum covers the political and structural frameworks involved in shaping public health policies.
