The Master of Music (M.M.) program provides specializations in composition, conducting, music theory, musicology (all 30 credit hours), pedagogy (36 credit hours), and performance (32 credit hours). This graduate degree requires at least 30 credit hours, with performance majors presenting recitals, musicology and theory students completing a thesis, and composition students submitting an original work. Musicology candidates must show proficiency in one foreign language before graduating. The pedagogy track (string or keyboard) offers a 36-credit non-thesis option. Performance majors (jazz, keyboard, collaborative piano, string, voice, or winds/percussion) complete a 32-credit program featuring two evaluated public recitals. Conducting students (choral, orchestral, or wind) may choose between two performances or one performance accompanied by a supporting paper.
