The Master of Arts in Theatre Arts program equips students for advanced graduate studies (Ph.D. or M.F.A.), teaching roles at community colleges or high schools, and professional analytical positions like dramaturgy or literary management. The 36-credit-hour curriculum builds on undergraduate studies, comprising 15 credits of core MA courses, 15 elective credits, and 6 thesis credits. Students must complete both a thesis and final examination to graduate. The MA core curriculum strengthens academic research and writing abilities, while electives provide exposure to diverse artistic and administrative disciplines. Our flexible course offerings enable students to investigate various career paths. Beyond academic training, the program distinctively allows students to develop skills in performance, direction, theatrical design, scriptwriting, and arts management.
