This program provides advanced coursework in literature, creative writing, and linguistics. Designed as more than just an extension of undergraduate studies, it offers a unique academic journey that emphasizes deeper exploration and cultivates analytical skills. The English Department provides both in-person and online Master of Arts programs, with identical course offerings across both formats. The English M.A. consists of 36 semester hours, available through either a thesis or non-thesis track. Students choosing the thesis path must finish 30 hours of graduate coursework plus research, write, and defend a thesis (accounting for 6 thesis hours). Alternatively, the non-thesis option involves completing all 36 hours through coursework while compiling and defending a portfolio containing revised academic papers or creative works, accompanied by a reflective essay.

International applicants must provide original language documents and English translations. If the documents are not provided in English, an official English translation of all transcripts/ individual semester mark sheets is required.
If admitted, the applicant will be required to submit official transcripts, diplomas/degree certificates, and test scores by the twelfth class day of the term to which the applicant is admitted.
