The Graduate Certificate in Applied Forensic Engineering offers a customizable curriculum enabling students to explore engineering's impact on product safety, public welfare, and legal regulations. Participants can tailor their studies to specific interests while maintaining ongoing communication with program director Professor Jahan Rasty from the Mechanical Engineering Department.
The program requires completion of 6 credit hours of core courses plus 6 credit hours from approved engineering electives. Beyond these 12 credit hours, students must undertake a practical forensic engineering project, with its parameters jointly defined and approved by both the student and program director. Final project deliverables include a comprehensive technical report and oral presentation submitted to the program director for evaluation.
