Geoscience is a multidisciplinary area dedicated to examining Earth and planetary systems and their changes over time. Professionals in this field utilize concepts from physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics to decipher Earth's developmental history. Career opportunities for geoscientists span environmental engineering, energy sectors, mining industries, government agencies, as well as education, legal, and business fields. The Bachelor of Science in Geosciences often serves as a foundation for advanced studies in physical sciences or STEM-focused business administration. The undergraduate curriculum provides a Bachelor of Arts with a geology focus and three Bachelor of Science specializations: geology, geophysics, and environmental geology. Enrollment in upper-level GEOL, GPH, and GCH courses may have restrictions due to resource constraints. Students must complete at least 12 credit hours within the program to fulfill major residency requirements.
