The M.Acy. program holds accreditation from AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a mark of excellence in business education for over 100 years. Only about 200 institutions globally achieve dual accreditation in both business and accounting. Leading accounting firms, from the Big-4 to regional practices, regularly recruit our students for internships and permanent roles, with graduates securing positions across public accounting firms and corporations regionally and nationally.
At the McCoy College of Business Department of Accounting, we focus on equipping our diverse student body for professional achievement in today's dynamic global marketplace. Our Master of Accountancy (M.Acy.) program enhances students' knowledge for public accounting careers while examining accounting information's ethical, social, and environmental impacts on decision-makers. This program meets Texas' 150-hour educational requirement for CPA licensure, and no prior accounting degree is necessary.
Career Pathways:
Graduates pursue diverse roles such as: auditing, taxation, forensic accounting, or consulting in public accounting firms; internal auditing, controllership, financial analysis, or CFO positions in corporate settings; government roles including IRS or FBI agents and defense contract auditors; as well as opportunities in nonprofit organizations and academic accounting.
