The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University provides bachelor's degree programs designed to train and cultivate educators and educational leaders. Each undergraduate pathway in the department results in initial teaching credentials and includes extensive hands-on training in nearby schools before student teaching begins.
Upon finishing the degree requirements and achieving passing scores on mandatory certification tests, graduates may pursue EC-6 Bilingual Core Subjects teaching credentials. This EC-6 Core Subjects qualification allows you to teach all primary subjects in both Spanish and English at Texas elementary schools as a lead instructor. Certified Texas teachers with a bachelor's degree can expand their teaching qualifications by passing relevant exams for additional subject areas.
