The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) is a multidisciplinary program designed to help you achieve your objectives by combining three Texas State minors, two General Studies classes, and relevant supplementary coursework. The Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education and School Psychology delivers exceptional graduate programs that foster personal, cultural, social, emotional, academic, and economic advancement. Through impactful teaching, research, and service, our faculty and students drive positive transformations in educational institutions, organizations, and communities worldwide. Our department produces innovative research that pushes boundaries in education, mental health, and higher learning. First-time college applicants are required to graduate or have graduated from a foreign secondary school with an academic profile equivalent to that of a U.S. high school curriculum.
Graduate with the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.
When reviewing your application, Texas State will consider your high school curriculum, admission essay(s), extracurricular involvement, leadership, community service, work experience, quality and competitive level of courses taken and grades earned, in addition to other factors presented in your application.
We strongly encourage anyone who is not offered freshman admission to attend another college, complete 30 hours of transferable credit with a minimum GPA of a 2.25, and apply for transfer admission.

TOEFL iBT - overall scores 78
