The Department of Theatre and Dance champions fairness and inclusion that mirrors our diverse student body, fosters unity, cultivates empathy, and rejects discrimination. We actively promote social equity by ensuring equal access for every student, free from prejudice based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith, financial background, or political views. As creative professionals and academics, we pursue collaborative excellence in our learning environments, rehearsal studios, and performance venues with a steadfast commitment to inclusive representation while celebrating historically marginalized communities and their artistic legacies.
This program delivers practical training and professional pathway exploration within the dance sector, encompassing areas such as arts leadership, dance studio operations, pre-professional company management, and international/domestic study program administration. Participants must complete at least 150 hours of field experience, establish a learning contract with the internship supervisor, and compile a professional portfolio. The Dance Internship provides students with valuable industry exposure through substantive, career-relevant work opportunities in the dance profession.
