The Department of World Languages & Literatures provides instruction in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and American Sign Language. Courses emphasize developing language skills while exploring cultural traditions, literature, and societal aspects. Students can participate in faculty-led study abroad programs, independent international studies, and hands-on learning through professional internships and community service. This particular course involves supervised work in Spanish-speaking settings, requiring at least 140 hours of service with 80% of tasks completed in Spanish. Additional assignments include internship reports as specified by the instructor.
