English Department students develop skills to craft content for a world shaped by written language and visual communication. In our rapidly evolving digital era—particularly with AI advancements—we cultivate leaders who motivate through compelling words and imagery that spark fresh ideas and genuine relationships. Learners produce academic papers, business communications, creative works like poetry and scripts, plus digital content for emerging platforms. The only boundary for English majors is their creativity.
Our curriculum examines diverse materials, from ancient manuscripts to contemporary culture, through multiple lenses. English students critically examine books, speeches, technical writing, films, and digital media while tackling profound questions about existence, purpose, and ethics. Whether exploring fantasy realms or frontier narratives, Shakespearean drama or viral posts, our courses transport students across textual universes.
