The Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program equips students:
with core principles and hands-on expertise in contemporary engineering,
to tackle real-world engineering problems while fostering academic and career growth, and
to recognize professional and ethical obligations, encompassing economic, environmental, and social considerations.
The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering offers both thesis and project options, requiring 30 or 36 credit hours of graduate coursework.
State-of-the-art research labs support studies in robotics, automation, intelligent systems, composite materials, additive manufacturing, and computer-aided design. Advanced computing resources are provided.
New graduate students must complete a minimum of one academic year in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department before seeking transfers to other Texas A&M University-Kingsville departments. Such requests require approval from both the graduate coordinator and department chair.
