The Department of Kinesiology & Military Science provides a Master of Science degree program in Athletic Training, which holds accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.
Admission to the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program is highly competitive. This CAATE-accredited program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi spans two years, requiring 57 credit hours of coursework combined with extensive practical training. Students gain clinical experience working with NCAA Division I sports teams, campus organizations like cheer and ROTC, as well as off-campus placements at physical therapy centers, high schools, and orthopedic clinics. Graduates fulfill CAATE requirements and qualify to take the BOC certification exam, enabling them to pursue athletic training licensure in Texas or other states.
