The Translation Certificate is open to Spanish majors and minors, as well as Business, International Studies, and Nursing students, along with members of the Corpus Christi community seeking expertise in English-Spanish and Spanish-English translation. This program trains individuals to convert written materials between these languages. Participants will refine their abilities to pursue careers as professional translators across business, finance, healthcare, and legal sectors. The 16-credit program culminates with a final assessment.
Graduates of this certificate will: Evaluate source materials for translation while considering textual and genre-specific conventions Identify various text types, resources, linguistic approaches, and specialized translation techniques Produce near-professional translations between English and Spanish for business, finance, healthcare, commerce, and legal fields
