The biology program offers comprehensive training for various careers in the biological sciences. The curriculum covers essential coursework for life science teacher certification, graduate school admission, and pre-professional programs for entry into medical and allied health fields. Students gain knowledge and hands-on experience to pursue diverse biology careers, including research, marine biology, wildlife conservation, environmental science, lab technology, biotechnology, microbiology, science communication, pharmaceutical sales, healthcare professions, and science education. The Organismal Biology concentration explores plant and animal ecology, anatomy, physiology, and natural history. Students may specialize in botany, zoology, or pursue a balanced study of both. This pathway prepares graduates for careers in wildlife conservation, fisheries science, natural resource management, park services, biodiversity protection, ecological restoration, and agricultural sciences. It also provides strong preparation for advanced studies in biology, wildlife sciences, forestry, or biological classification systems.
