The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Theatre Program aims to equip students with essential skills for careers as Theatre educators or professionals, or for advanced graduate studies. Our program fosters meaningful experiences that deepen appreciation for Theatre as an expressive and collaborative art form. Students develop creative and analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and artistic exploration in an environment that prizes integrity, embraces both failure and success, and values diverse perspectives in the pursuit of artistic authenticity. Our robust theatre season functions as both a training ground for students and a cultural asset, enriching campus life and serving as a key artistic resource for South Texas communities.
Graduates earning a BA in Theatre with Teaching Certification will showcase these competencies: Presenting historical and cultural Theatre knowledge during their mandatory faculty exit review. Demonstrating proficiency in historical research and script analysis during the required faculty evaluation. Articulating visual and auditory interpretations of Theatre performances during their final assessment. Students will reference concrete examples from their involvement in University Theatre productions.
