The M.S. Program in Biomedical Sciences equips students with specialized knowledge across key areas of oral health research: Developmental biology and genetics, Bioengineering and tissue regeneration, Mineralized tissue studies, as well as Neuroscience and pain mechanisms.
This OBIO degree program primarily offers advanced scientific education for dental school graduates and Texas A&M College of Dentistry clinical specialty students. International dental professionals seeking to enhance their research expertise will also find this program particularly valuable.
Many graduate clinical programs at the College share substantial coursework with the Oral Biology M.S., making it ideal for clinically-oriented students with academic ambitions or those pursuing dual careers in practice and teaching.
Current dentistry students can enroll in the M.S. program through customized study plans developed with Oral Biology graduate advisors. This research-focused training prepares participants for future Ph.D. studies or advanced clinical specialization.
Completion requires a minimum of 32 approved semester credit hours encompassing both coursework and research.
Non-dental students with a baccalaureate degree in the biological sciences are also eligible to apply for the M.S. in Oral Biology program. This M.S. provides non-dental students with the background for a more advanced degree. The degree provides additional training to individuals, such as secondary school science teachers or laboratory technicians, who may benefit from increased scientific knowledge
