The Master of Science in Management Information Systems is a demanding graduate program distinguished by several key advantages: Strong technical and business groundwork: Participants graduate with robust information systems expertise coupled with essential business competencies. Analytical capabilities: Alumni can promptly address organizational challenges, making them prized professionals that leading firms actively recruit. The program spans four semesters, commencing in August and concluding the following May. Students may lighten their final semester workload by undertaking a summer internship (ISTM 684) for credit between the second and third terms as an elective. This option decreases the last semester's requirement to just 6 credit hours (two courses). Below is the standard program timeline presented in table format.
Students who have already completed or are in the process of completing a bachelor’s degree may apply for the master’s program in Management Information Systems (MS-MIS)
English proficiency can also be demonstrated by:
Minimum TOEFL i-BT score of 80 (in person or Home Edition) from a test date within two years (Texas A&M University does not accept the MyBest TOEFL score), or
Minimum TOEFL Essentials score of 8.5, or
Minimum IELTS Academic test score of 6.0 overall band (Texas A&M University does not accept the IELTS General test), or
GRE Verbal Reasoning score of at least 146 (subject to departmental approval), or
GMAT Verbal Score of at least 22 (subject to departmental approval), or
Acquiring alternative verification during the admission process from the Graduate and Professional School via a departmental request.
Applications for the MS-MIS program are accepted for fall admission only.
