The Master of Land and Property Development (MLPD) program at Texas A&M bridges real estate design with business fundamentals. You'll discover how to integrate financial strategies with urban planning, architectural design, and construction methods for both residential and commercial developments.
The curriculum provides hands-on training for real-world real estate challenges, teaching you how to transform land uses—from site selection through project completion.
The MLPD synthesizes knowledge from every discipline within the School of Architecture to bring development concepts to life. Our comprehensive, cross-disciplinary approach builds upon foundational land development principles. Through our courses, you'll master the skills to identify, create, and invest in sustainable real estate ventures. A distinctive feature of our program includes training in land parceling, development contract negotiations, and building professional teams to manage real estate operations.
We emphasize experiential learning through practical development processes. Outside academics, student groups like the Real Estate Development Association connect you with industry leaders statewide. Professional growth opportunities include site visits, guest lectures, and networking with organizations such as the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
The MLPD program additionally offers an accelerated pathway to obtain your CCIM certification post-graduation
