The Master of International Affairs is a 48-credit (16-class) program without a thesis requirement, featuring five foundational courses, summer internship or immersive language/cultural training, and two specialized three-course concentrations. Instruction comes from faculty with diverse academic backgrounds and practical global expertise. Core studies cover international relations, world economics, research methodologies, and U.S. foreign policy, including a mandatory capstone project. For this culminating experience, student teams collaborate on real-world research problems for external clients, producing comprehensive reports and delivering formal presentations. The Bush School's International Affairs Department prepares aspiring leaders for government and NGO roles by developing essential professional competencies and policy knowledge.
