Students who have earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering or are qualified seniors in their final semester can pursue graduate studies to obtain a non-thesis Master of Engineering (MEng) degree, focusing on their chosen engineering discipline. This MEng program offers specialization in several key areas:Cybersecurity - equipping engineers with essential skills to tackle modern cybersecurity challenges.
Engineering Medicine (EnMed) - Texas A&M's unique dual-degree program at Houston Methodist Hospital, combining an MD with a Master of Engineering. Prospective students should refer to the Catalog's section on the combined degree program for details.
Interdisciplinary Engineering - ideal for students whose research spans multiple engineering fields or academic departments.
Subsea Engineering - developing expertise in designing, constructing, and managing subsea systems
The program is also available through asynchronous online learning platforms.
A student holding a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a qualified senior during the last semester may apply for admission to graduate studies to work toward the non-thesis degree of Master of Engineering (MENG), specializing in his or her particular field of engineering.
You are an international graduate applicant if you:
are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (or applicant for permanent residency) AND
you have not graduated from a Texas high school after three years in residence in Texas AND
hold a bachelor’s or professional degree (or equivalent)
Test Scores Accepted by Texas A&M University
The following global test scores are acceptable to meet the ELP Requirement for admission and registration:
Minimum TOEFL-iBT score of 80 (in person or Home Edition) from a test date within two years (Texas A&M University does not accept the MyBest TOEFL score)
Minimum TOEFL Essentials score of 8.5 from a test date within two years (Texas A&M University does not accept the MyBest TOEFL score)
Minimum IELTS Academic test score of 6.0 overall band from a test date within two years (Texas A&M University does not accept the IELTS General test)
GRE Verbal Reasoning score of at least 146 (subject to departmental approval) from a test date within five years; or
GMAT Verbal Score of at least 77 on the new scale or 22 on the old scale (subject to departmental approval) from a test date within five years.
