The Master of Engineering program focuses on developing practical problem-solving skills in engineering. Students are required to complete a professional internship, documented through BAEN 684 (3 credit hours), as part of the Biological and Agricultural Engineering degree requirements. This culminates in a professional paper that presents a scholarly account of problem-solving achievements during the internship. Unlike traditional programs, this is a non-thesis degree.
The Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department's Master of Engineering curriculum emphasizes professional growth, innovative problem-solving, and creative approaches. Specialization areas cover environmental resources, food engineering, bioprocess technology, biomaterials, energy systems, systems analysis, and agricultural processing.
To earn the Master of Engineering degree, candidates must undertake advanced coursework and professional development activities. The program mandates both a professional internship and the submission of a comprehensive professional paper detailing the internship outcomes.
