Since 1970, when the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board authorized master's and doctoral programs in toxicology, Texas A&M has been a leader in toxicology education and research. The Interdisciplinary Faculty of Toxicology (IFT) oversees the academic aspects, bringing together faculty and students from various departments, colleges, and research facilities. This program spans multiple fields including veterinary medicine, health sciences, environmental studies, chemistry/biochemistry, biology, and physics. Prospective students must complete advanced biology or chemistry coursework (or equivalent) and gain approval from both the IFT and a participating department. Competitive graduate assistantships and scholarships are offered to qualified applicants.
