The Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MMET) program equips students for vibrant careers in the industrial sector. Graduates are adaptable and proficient in various fields that demand knowledge of the interconnections between material characteristics, product design, expenses, manufacturing systems, and process technologies. Students approach manufacturing from a holistic and systemic viewpoint, acknowledging the significance of interactions with customers and suppliers. To address these varied requirements, the degree curriculum offers a base in mathematics, science, and specialized technical courses, along with training in verbal and written communication. The primary focus areas include product design, manufacturing systems integration and automation, and quality evaluation. These studies are underpinned by a strong grounding in materials and manufacturing methods.
At Texas A&M University, the MMET program's mission is to deliver a top-tier, application-focused education that produces professionals capable of making meaningful contributions to leadership, the progress of manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology, and the enhanced performance of industrial operations. This educational goal is supported by applied research and the creation of innovative interdisciplinary technology that benefits both the university and its partners in industry, government, and academia. The program's members are dedicated to offering service and leadership to advance the University and the profession.
