The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology provides multiple specialization paths to equip students for diverse professional opportunities in education, exercise science, and dance science. Certain tracks also lay the academic foundation for students pursuing advanced studies in healthcare fields like physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant programs, or medical school. All kinesiology specializations share core coursework, with additional tailored requirements for each concentration. Students should work closely with their academic advisor to plan their course sequence effectively.
The Dance Science concentration within the Kinesiology BS program trains students for careers in dance science. These professionals work with dance organizations and training centers globally, developing optimized training regimens while providing guidance on nutrition, injury prevention/recovery, and psychological aspects of dance. Graduates may pursue roles as researchers, dance/movement therapists, massage specialists, or become more knowledgeable performers and instructors.
