The 5-year combined Bachelor-Master program offers BS COMM students a streamlined path to earn both degrees within five years or less by transitioning directly into the MA COMM program.
Starting each fall, eligible students can apply during their junior year spring semester, provided they have two remaining undergraduate terms. Admitted students will enroll in one graduate course per semester during their senior year while finishing undergraduate requirements before completing the MA. Both undergraduate and graduate advisors will provide ongoing support throughout the program. This accelerated degree option enhances learning opportunities at Texas A&M University, enabling students to explore more advanced coursework and maximize the department's diverse offerings.
Ideal for students entering with exam credits, dual enrollment, or transfer credits, this program extends the academic journey for those who might otherwise graduate early. The additional year allows time for meaningful campus engagement - joining student organizations, assuming leadership roles, securing career-focused internships, participating in study abroad programs, collaborating on research projects with faculty and graduate students, and pursuing competitive fellowships or additional Texas A&M programs. The Master's degree adds significant value, fostering deeper faculty-student mentoring relationships that frequently broaden academic perspectives and career possibilities.
