The Bachelor of Science in Communication leverages collaborative communication to tackle challenges through communication intervention, the program's core focus. Communication intervention involves working effectively with others to adjust outcomes, conditions, and procedures while mitigating risks, ultimately improving system performance. This approach combines knowledge from diverse liberal arts and STEM disciplines. It serves as an essential tool for examining and tackling modern-day issues. Our program combines liberal arts' critical thinking and perspective-building abilities with STEM's analytical and quantitative strengths (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Graduates gain valuable expertise in communication intervention applicable to fields like business, healthcare, media, politics, non-profits, and social advocacy. Alongside university and Texas state requirements, students complete foundational courses covering communication theory, technology, research methodologies, data collection and visualization, team leadership, and designing, executing, and evaluating communication strategies.
