The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program is designed to provide students with a thorough, well-rounded education across all principal chemistry disciplines, while maintaining ample room for personal customization. This flexibility is achieved in part through active participation in cutting-edge, groundbreaking research initiatives that engage undergraduate chemistry majors. Typically, BS chemistry students begin research projects in their third year and maintain this involvement through graduation. Many qualify for research grants and fellowships, often including summer research opportunities. It's quite common for chemistry undergraduates to co-author papers in leading scientific journals prior to completing their degree.
These undergraduate research experiences provide extensive hands-on work with contemporary laboratory equipment, including advanced instrumentation. Participants also develop deep professional understanding through meaningful, one-on-one interactions with chemistry faculty members.
