Architectural engineers combine cutting-edge technologies with structural design to create more sustainable and durable buildings, addressing challenges through every phase of construction and operation.
Their versatile expertise leads to diverse career paths across both private and public sectors, including roles in architectural design, structural systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, fire safety, electrical and lighting systems, building automation, and project management. As sustainability becomes increasingly critical, the demand for skilled architectural engineers continues to grow.
The College of Engineering provides a Bachelor of Science program in architectural engineering, equipping students to design integrated building systems—such as mechanical, electrical, lighting, fire protection, and acoustics—while developing innovative solutions for contemporary and future challenges.
