Commercial Music Studies at TSU: Training for Careers in Popular Music The Commercial Music specialization at TSU is part of the broader music degree program. This music degree mandates that Commercial Music students take courses in music theory, music history, receive private instruction on their main instrument, perform a senior recital, and join one of the Commercial Music ensembles. Like all music students, they must develop music reading skills.
The Commercial Music track includes specialized coursework covering the music business, technology applications, and live performance. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Science in Music with a Commercial Music Concentration.
Students in the Commercial Music program can select from three focus areas: Music Business, Music Technology, or Performance Studies

Official transcripts from colleges/universities attended in the United States
Official transcripts and authorized school records with a course-by-course listing of courses and grades received, such transcripts must have been evaluated by a foreign educational credential agency, at the student's expense.

Minimum grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 system.

An applicant whose native language is not English is required to submit a test score of 61 as the minimum acceptance level of performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL) IBT or 5.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). We will also accept the Duolingo English Test with a score of 71 or higher. International students with superior scholastic records are considered for admission as freshmen and as transfer students. An applicant whose native language is not English is required to submit a test score of 500 as the minimum acceptance level of performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL)
