The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering aligns with the University and College of Engineering's mission to deliver excellent education in Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Systems Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering. It conducts fundamental and applied research in key specialized fields and serves its community.
The electrical engineering curriculum progressively develops from foundational sciences, mathematics, and engineering principles to give students a comprehensive understanding across electrical engineering disciplines. A computer engineering concentration is available within the B.S.E.E. degree. Coursework covers electrical circuits, linear systems, programming, electromagnetic theory, control systems, energy conversion, power systems, communication systems, digital logic, software engineering, computer architecture, and microprocessors. Students can focus their studies in control systems, communication systems, power systems, or computer engineering through elective courses.
