Earning a Biology degree with a focus on General Biology or Cellular and Molecular Biology demands completion of 122 semester hours, including 45 credits in biology coursework. The program also mandates 43 credits for General Education, 20 credits covering General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry, 8 Physics credits, and either 3 credits of Math 1720 or above (for General Biology) or Math 1910 (for Cellular and Molecular Biology). Students must additionally complete 15 upper-level elective credits (such as PSYC 3410). Note that Biology courses with grades below C will not count toward departmental requirements.

Minimum grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 system.

An applicant whose native language is not English is required to submit a test score of 61 as the minimum acceptance level of performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL) IBT or 5.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). We will also accept the Duolingo English Test with a score of 71 or higher. International students with superior scholastic records are considered for admission as freshmen and as transfer students. An applicant whose native language is not English is required to submit a test score of 500 as the minimum acceptance level of performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL)
