Master two programming languages and gain expertise in database technology and data management through the Undergraduate Certificate in Fundamentals of Programming at Temple's College of Science and Technology. This 12-credit program helps undergraduate students strengthen their knowledge of computer programming and database methods. You'll explore Java and Python, two widely-used object-oriented languages common in scientific research and web development. Develop skills to create testable, maintainable code while learning algorithmic and logical problem-solving techniques. The curriculum covers database systems, Java and Python programming with testing, and principles of program design and abstraction. You can incorporate this Fundamentals of Programming Certificate (Undergraduate) into your current degree plan. Note: Computer Science, Information Science and Technology, Mathematics and Computer Science majors, or Mathematics and Computer Science with Teaching majors are ineligible for this program.
