In scientific fields, clear and concise writing is a highly valued skill sought after by various entities, from nonprofits to pharmaceutical firms and media organizations. The PSM in Scientific Writing program aims to equip students from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) backgrounds with the specialized knowledge needed for careers in medical and scientific writing. It also provides current STEM professionals with opportunities to expand and refine their skills for career growth.
This PSM program delivers targeted training across multiple scientific writing styles while helping students strengthen their communication abilities. Through coursework and hands-on internships, participants gain practical experience under the guidance of regulatory affairs leaders, medical writers, active researchers, and professionals from scientific publications and publishing houses.
Developed through a partnership between Temple University's College of Science and Technology and the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication, the program allows students to fulfill degree requirements with elective courses in diverse fields including Engineering, English, Health Policy, Marketing, Pharmacy Quality Assurance, Philosophy, and Statistics.
