As our physical and digital realms grow increasingly interconnected, the boundaries between tangible infrastructure and cyberspace continue to blur. This convergence leaves individuals highly exposed to cyber threats, where malicious actors can disrupt specific communities or even compromise national security. With the global cybersecurity workforce shortage reaching 2.72 million professionals in 2021, government agencies have prioritized addressing this critical gap.
The Professional Science Master's (PSM) in Cyber Defense and Information Assurance (CyberDIA) was developed to respond to the fast-changing digital landscape and its constant barrage of emerging threats. This program caters to professionals across all career stages—from newcomers to seasoned executives—seeking to develop vital skills for safeguarding their organizations and national interests against escalating cyber risks. Drawing from diverse fields like business, computer science, engineering, and legal studies, the multidisciplinary curriculum emphasizes a comprehensive security approach centered on prevention, detection, and response strategies. While CyberDIA heavily focuses on technical aspects like network security and digital forensics, it also addresses the growing divide between cybersecurity technology and policy frameworks.
