The Master of Science in Education (MSEd) program for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) caters to professionals from diverse backgrounds with various career aspirations. This includes: Individuals seeking teaching roles that don't necessitate state certification, such as positions abroad or in corporate environments, community organizations, university language institutes, and private K-12 schools. Certified Pennsylvania public school educators aiming to enhance their ability to support English language learners. International students wishing to build specialized skills for teaching English in their home countries. The TESOL MSEd program focuses on English language structure and variations, equipping students to help learners access opportunities through English literacy. Participants will learn to tailor instruction based on learners' ages, communication needs, academic requirements, language backgrounds, literacy levels, and proficiency. Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A bachelor's degree is required. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is expected.

International applicants should also submit an official document that validates completion and conferral of a degree, diploma, and/or certificate. While not required, international applicants are encouraged to submit transcript(s) to the World Education Services (WES) for evaluation.

Statement of Goals: Indicate your interest in seeking a master's degree with a specific focus on the career to which you aspire, your particular research, intellectual, and applied interests, and your academic and job-related experiences that are relevant to the program.

Standardized Test Scores:
Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:

IELTS Academic: 7.0
The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
