The Department of Vocal Arts provides a graduate program culminating in a Master of Music degree specializing in Choral Conducting. Students in this program gain hands-on experience directing various campus ensembles and showcase their skills through performances with the Graduate Conductors Chorus. Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:

550 on the paper-based (PBT)

The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
