The Master of Arts in Urban Bioethics (MAUB) stands as the country's sole bioethics program specifically focused on health equity. This unique curriculum offers comprehensive training in conventional bioethics while equipping students with hands-on tools to examine ethical dilemmas, principles, and tensions prevalent in metropolitan environments.
Those enrolled in the MAUB develop both practical and theoretical expertise to tackle severe disparities in healthcare availability and resource distribution across varied, densely populated urban communities. Given bioethics' broad relevance, the program attracts candidates from diverse fields such as healthcare, public policy, philosophy, and legal studies.

Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: While a baccalaureate degree is required for admission to the M.A. program, the major studied for the undergraduate degree is not specified.
Statement of Goals: Two to three double-spaced pages should address how you see the M.A. in Urban Bioethics as integral to your current educational goals and current/future career development.
Standardized Test Scores:
GRE: Required for applicants graduating from traditional undergraduate programs. Applicants for the dual degree and those already holding an advanced degree are not required to submit GRE scores. Other applicants should contact the Director of Education or the Program Coordinator for clarification about their need to submit GRE scores as part of the application.
Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:

The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
