The Department of Economics provides both full-time and part-time graduate studies culminating in master's (MA) and doctoral (PhD) degrees. MA graduates acquire the analytical capabilities needed for evaluating business and policy economics, while PhD recipients gain the expertise to perform innovative research and contribute to economic scholarship. MA candidates may pursue a broad economics curriculum or concentrate on specialized fields such as econometrics, financial economics, health economics, international monetary economics, or labor economics. The program offers two distinct tracks: (1) general economics or (2) applied economics with financial markets focus. Designed to cultivate skilled economic analysts and leaders, the program frequently serves as a stepping stone to doctoral studies.
