The Master of Arts in Biology program at Temple University's College of Science and Technology focuses on modern biological studies through advanced coursework. This program equips students for professional schools or biology-related careers. Offered as both part-time and full-time graduate study, the Biology MA caters to those pursuing graduate-level biological education without laboratory-based experimental research. Unlike the Biology MS, this program concentrates on academic coursework and independent study, allowing specialization in areas like molecular biology and genetics. Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:

The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
