The School of Pharmacy provides graduate studies culminating in M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences, specializing in Pharmaceutics. This curriculum equips students for careers in pharmaceutical companies, government institutions, and academic roles within pharmacy education. Situated on Temple University's vibrant Health Sciences Center campus, the School works to connect drug discovery, fundamental preclinical research, and translational medicine. Through these dual focuses, we cultivate the next generation of experts in pharmaceutical sciences, medication development, and both fundamental and translational research. Recently, the School has experienced significant expansion in its research initiatives, establishing multiple specialized centers that span diverse scientific fields. Qualification Requirements
Master's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A master's degree is not required.
Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A baccalaureate degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, or Psychology is required.
Applicants who earned a degree at a non-U.S. institution must submit an equivalency evaluation of their transcript(s) through a third-party provider, either World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE).
Statement of Goals: In approximately 500 to 1,000 words, state your specific interest in Temple's program, research goals, future career goals, and academic and research achievements.
Standardized Test Scores:
GRE: Required. Scores should be in the 65th percentile or above.
Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:
Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences: 585 for paper version, 230 for computer version, 85 for internet (IBT) version.
IELTS Academic: 6.5
The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
