Qualification Requirements

Master's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A master's degree is not required for admission into the Ph.D. program.
Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A baccalaureate degree is required. Typically, the undergraduate degree has been earned in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Statement of Goals: Identify your specific interest in Temple's program, research goals, future career goals, and academic and research achievements.
Submit official transcripts from every college and university you have attended.
Standardized Test Scores:

Submit three letters of recommendation from college or university faculty professionals and/or industry professionals.
Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:
TOEFL: 85 iBT or 575 PBT,
IELTS: 6.5,
Regardless of score, all international students are required to take a SPEAK test upon arrival at Temple.

Other: Submission of research papers with the applicant as a co-author or any other material associated with the applicant's research aptitude is recommended.
The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
