Gain specialized knowledge to discover novel findings, create innovative products, or advance the frontiers of bioengineering. This program focuses intensely on translational medicine, consistently working to move evidence-based discoveries into clinical trials and, when validated, incorporate them into medical practice. You can investigate diverse research domains centered on progress in biological imaging, biomaterials and injury biomechanics, neuroengineering, stem cell and cancer-cell engineering, biomaterial synthesis and properties, precision drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and beyond. PhD students have conducted research alongside partners at Temple's Fox Chase Cancer Center, Katz School of Medicine, Kornberg School of Dentistry, and College of Science and Technology. Master's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A master's degree is not required, but preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A bachelor's degree is required.
University regulations stipulate that the applicant must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale in her/his undergraduate studies
Statement of Goals: Describe your relevant technical experiences, career goals, and specific research interests in one to two pages.
Standardized Test Scores:
GRE: Required. Scores must be no more than 5 years in advance of the application date.
Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:
TOEFL iBT: 79
IELTS Academic: 6.5
550 on the paper-based (PBT)
Resume: Current resume required.
The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
