The Plus 1 Accelerated Program enables Physics undergraduates in the College of Science and Technology to earn both their bachelor's degree and, in just one additional year, a Master's in Middle Grades Education. This graduate program fulfills the Pennsylvania Department of Education's requirements for Teacher Certification in Middle Grades Education (Grades 4-8). Participants will qualify to teach all elementary subjects for grades 4-6, while also specializing in one of these certification options for grades 7-8: Dual certifications (Mathematics & Science, Mathematics & English/Language Arts, or Science & English/Language Arts) or Single certification (English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies).

Your application must include all official and original academic records from any secondary school you have ever attended.
If you are attending a secondary school curriculum that is four years, Temple University reviews grades nine through 11 as well as your current progress in 12th grade (term/quarter/semester/predicted) or your final transcript if you completed secondary school.
If you are attending a secondary school curriculum that is only three years, we strongly recommend you submit the final year of your primary school as well.
