Empower high school students to achieve fluency in a foreign language. Pursue a BSEd in Secondary Education: World Languages to enhance your language skills, learn impactful teaching methods, and guide students in mastering reading, writing, and speaking with precision. While your degree comes from the College of Education and Human Development, you'll also fulfill major requirements in a language program from the College of Liberal Arts. Strengthen your language abilities through beginner, intermediate, and advanced coursework, covering formal and informal writing, analyzing literature, conversational speaking, and exploring cultural aspects like history and traditions. For teaching expertise, you'll complete secondary education requirements, learning to design instructional materials, assess teaching methods, and gain hands-on experience through field placements in schools or community programs. The program concludes with a semester-long teaching practicum in a high school, mentored by Temple faculty and an experienced educator.
