Pursue a BSEd in Secondary Education with a focus on English Education to gain expertise in teaching students literary analysis and composition across genres. This program equips you with proven classroom leadership and teaching strategies. Through the College of Liberal Arts, you'll study critical literary theory, delve into literature or language studies, and complete your English concentration with an advanced writing project. Simultaneously, the College of Education and Human Development will train you to: balance literacy interventions with curriculum delivery, implement reading strategies for ELL students, design inclusive learning environments, and recognize and address special education requirements. Practical experience is integrated throughout the program via numerous field placements. The curriculum concludes with a full-semester teaching practicum at a local high school, where you'll lead a classroom under the guidance of a mentor teacher and Temple University supervisors. Your diploma will be conferred by the College of Education and Human Development.
